Artist Statement
The act of communication is crucial for one to learn. But how does one make an effort to speak when his means of communication are limited by his hearing disability?

I am the living example. I cannot hear and speak well as I was born deaf. I am forced to use different ways to communicate. However, my disability did not delay nor hinder my learning process. It has in fact become my form of study. I am interested to explore my degree of efficiency in speech and question how much it allows my audience to understand me. My works consist of my own means of communication like sign language and lip reading in order to express my personal feelings and thoughts. The medium I have chosen consist of many elements like light, heat, wax and space because I am forced to use various forms of communication. I want to force my viewers to interact and understand what I am trying to say. While I can hardly hear, my viewer can hardly comprehend.
